Sonia Choquette is a world renowned author and intuitive. She has written many books, but one of my favorites is
Your Heart's Desire: Instructions for Creating the Life You Really Want. I was introduced to these principles by one of her students, Peter Hughes. It was not only life-changing, but also life-challenging. These principles have helped me to approach the things I want out of life from a position of soul or source. You might ask why I say soul or source, because as I mentioned in my introductory post, we are "divine spirits having a human experience". I did not know this when I began my Heart's Desire journey. I had my eyes closed to who I truly am. I believe most of us go through life with our eyes closed and I think we do this for many reasons, but I think the main reason is fear. Fear of knowing who we really are and who we really can be.
My story is your typical coming out story. I realized I was a lesbian when I was eighteen, but because of my upbringing and social rules. I was not comfortable with being who I am. I married twice in my twenties, I remain Facebook friends with both my ex-husbands today. I moved away from my hometown and was finally, able to live my life the way I wanted. However, I still struggled with the values that were instilled in me as a young person. In fact, when my family found out about my true self, they asked me if I wanted to go to "Hell". I answered "I was already living it". Today, my family does not support me even though I have found my soul-mate and life partner. It is difficult for them to see me as a divine spirit. They want to see me as a "lost person" who has strayed from the ideal of who they think I am. The truth is "I am a divine spirit having a human experience". I am giving you a brief synopsis of my life because I want you to know I understand. Your story may not be exactly like mine, but I understand the struggle of overcoming your fears and for seeing yourself for who you are.
Let's begin our journey together with a review of Sonia's nine principles. If you haven't read the book, then I would encourage you to do so. Or even better, find someone who can facilitate you through the process. I facilitate the process and usually offer a course in the fall. I am currently looking at offering a course later in the Spring or in the Summer. I will also work with you individually. The nine principles:
Principle 1: Bring dream to into focus - you create what you want when you focus.
Principle 2: Gain control of your unconscious mind - your unconscious mind is your intellect, keeping you safe or so it thinks. Your subconscious mind is a "Yes" machine, it will do whatever you tell it.
Principle 3: Imagine your heart's desire. If you can imagine it, you can create it.
Principle 4: Eliminate your obstacles - It your job to remove things that get in the way. A mantra to incorporate into your daily life: I now let go of worn-out things, worn-out conditions, and worn-out relationships. Divine order is now established and maintained in me and my world. Thank you!
Principle 5: Be open to intuitive guidance - Ask for guidance from help from whatever you determine as a higher power. Ask through prayer - Listen through meditation.
Principle 6: Choose to support your dream with love - No matter what you want to create, it will require choice and action. When you choose to make loving decisions that agree with what you desire, you attract your Heart’s Desire directly to you.
Principle 7: Surrender control - Stop worrying about how it's going to be done. Just ask and let the Universe provide for you.
Principle 8: Claim your dream - Use words to get what you want. It is your words chosen with love that will bring you to your heart's desire.
Principle 9: Stay true to your dream - This is the principle for checking your work with principles 1-8. If you find you are not getting what you want, check in with principles, and work through the process again.
Good luck and we'll be talking again soon.
